The Project Lifecycle

The Project Lifecycle (Fig 1) is an efficient four step process which is followed by a number of project managers when moving forward in the steps of the project tasks. The steps of a project are in a strict order beginning with Initiation which leads to Planning, Implementation and lastly Closure. It is a combination of events which are essential to achieve the stages of a project. They vary in complexity and measurements. The project’s size does not matter. All projects can be mapped to the project lifecycle.
A project manager and team have the same objective which is to carry out the project’s purpose successfully by meeting the requirements and criteria. Every project has specific stages to meet the final outcome and fulfil the expected end game. The path has a beginning, middle and end.
