The balance between the products and services that humans consume of natural capital and the ability of global regenerate the waste products become significantly dysfunctional; with the populations increase, the development of urbanization expands accordingly, more complex products for the demand and expenditure patterns change which in turn impact long-term earth’s ecosystems (Wackernagel et al., 1999). The Ecological Footprint (EF) provides a current connection between the environmental impact and sustainable awareness, understanding the impacts and implementing strategies are often confronting as a consequence sustainability progress is complicated and multifaceted. The aim of this report is to calculate and analyse author’s own footprint and to discuss three main indicators (Mobility, Food consumption, Shelter) following the strategies that can be operated to diminish ecological impacts and seek a more sustainable environment for humans and all species through three wheels of sustainability: Civil Society, Corporations and Government.
The result indicates if everyone on the planet has the same lifestyle as me, it would need 2.7 Earths to support my own living. A comprehensive understanding of the role of three wheels for developing a sustainable future and the current strategies as well as limitations and barriers are included in this report. In response to this report, it can be seen that footprint reduction and progress of sustainability not only focus on the individual level but also require strong government power, civil society and corporations working collaboratively to secure a viable future.
