But they ended up in the studio of Digory’s relative, Uncle Andrew Ketterley. The children saw the yellow and green rings on a study table, but were tricked by Uncle Andrew, who tried to prove his theory and offered a ring to Polly. He touched it and disappeared instantly. Digory began to complain about what had happened to her friend Polly and then her uncle Andrew told her that the rings were made of magic dust. The yellow rings transported people to other worlds, while the green rings carried people to the present. Since Polly did not have the green ring, Digory goes to look for it and takes the two rings.
