3.1 The natural resource that s at the heart of the issue discussed is coltan.
3.2 The resource is obtained from the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC). It is mined using school –aged children.

3.4 The effect of using child labour in coltan mines in the Eastern Congo is that it has negatively affected schooling; children are taken out of schools and are forced to work in mines.
3.5 Most profits that are made from selling coltan to outside countries are used to fuel armed conflicts.
