Kohlberg believes that people go through various stages in the evolution of senses and the kind of reasoning they use to make moral judgments
Individuals at this stage are concerned with themselves (egocentricity) rather than others. A child is solely concerned with the desire to be rewarded rather than to be punished, hence a child’s behaviour is guided primarily to avoid being punished. They view rules as being stable.
Substance abuse can be defined as the harmful or hazardous use of psychoactive substances such as alcohol and illicit drugs repeated used of Psychoactive drugs results in a person developing dependency syndrome(WHO,2017). Continued use of psychoactive drugs will cause a cluster of behavioural, cognitive, and physiological phenomena to develop; a strong desire to take the drug, difficulties in controlling its use, persisting in its use despite harmful consequences, a higher priority given to drug use than to other activities and obligations, increased tolerance, and sometimes a physical withdrawal state. (WHO,2017).
