Most people in the world do not understand what global warming is. There are some individuals who feel that global warming real. Then there are some individuals who don’t believe global warming is a natural occurrence or manmade. To understand the importance of this global issue than the first step is to understand the situation at hand. Imagine this planet that mankind lives on and breathes in, turns into non livable conditions. Envision deserts expanding across the continent.
Coastlines are under attacked by the relentless hurricanes and floods that keeps occurring. Entire islands are completely submerged underwaters, while all the rain forests and forests are completely destroyed. What if plants and animals of all kind became extinct. These images are a bit extreme to follow, this world could possibly become a reality. Earths future is not somewhere that mankind can just go to with out having responsibilities. Mankind have to create the efforts in protecting the Earths future.
Global warming already disrupts millions of lives daily in the forms of destructive weather patterns and loss of habitat. What is already happening is only the tip of the melting iceberg, for it is the children and grandchildren who may suffer most from the effects of global warming. Global warming is a huge issue. The effects on the environment, people and the world create great risks because if there are no major changes, then the results could be a long lasting disaster.
To first understand the topic of global warming is to first understand the meaning. What is the definition of global warming? Oxford University Press (2018) defines Global Warming as a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants.a
